Another ugly moment in Rugby League’s colourful history erupted on Sunday afternoon when parents brawled at an under-12’s’s match following alleged racial abuse of a young player by a spectator.

According to reports in the Sydney Morning Herald, a fight occurred during a game between Mascot and South Eastern Rugby League clubs at Heffron Park after a young player was called a “black c…!”

Club officials remain unsure as to whether the man who made the remark was a parent or team official.

Regardless, the remark was enough to turn a serenial afternoon on the sidelines into a dash for cover  when the player’s father king-hit the man.

It’s understood that other parents then got involved in the melee.

The competition’s chief executive is expected to be given a round by round account of what happened in the match report.

Souths Juniors president Keith McGraw said parents could be blacklisted from attending games and could have their children de-registered.
