If you’re going to play a game of League badly, do it REALLY badly. Get beaten by 92-points like Toulouse did in round 4 of the English Challenge Cup.

Bradford’s 98-6 act of no mercy against the first French club to ever make the semi-finals in Challenge Cup history, in the end proved to be another tale of an amateur side being mismatched against a full-time first grade outfit.

Still for Toulouse coach Thierry Dumaine it could have been worse.

He could have been coaching Illingworth when they were chopped up 120-4 by Rochdale in the 2005 Challenge Cup.

The Bulls scored 17 tries in total, grabbing 10 before the break before sneaking in another 7 for good measure before the full-time siren sounded to the dismay of spectators who were relishing such a demolition derby.

Full-back Dave Halley scored four tries while stand-off Iestyn Harris kicked 15 conversions to break the club record set by Joe Phillips in 1952.

I’m still trying to find out if this game will be released on a commemorative DVD for true blue Rugby League collectors. If you have any suggestion for the title of such a hypothetical DVD, send GRL your suggestions via our contact form below.

National League One leaders Salford are still a long way off from returning to Super League standard after they were sliced and diced 38-8 at the hands of Wakefield.

Huddersfield ran to a 16-point lead and never looked like losing to neighbours Halifax , eventually winning 42-24.

SM Pia XIII put up a great showing against Wigan, snatching 4 points while only conceding 74. Mark Calderwood and Liam Colbon both grabbed hat-tricks each against the part-time French squad.

Hull KR proved Workington have a lot of work to do before they win the Challenge Cup after romping away to a mammoth 68-12 win.

London Skolars also entered themselves into the record books as the only team held scoreless last weekend after they handed St Helens a generous 56-0 victory.

Celtic Crusaders were behind by only 4-points at half-time in their clash with Leeds (14-10) before the Rhinos scored four more times to walk away with a modest 38-16 victory.

It wasn’t a bad effort from the Welsh team, who are one of 19 applicants for a Super League license in 2009.

In the only Super League showdown, Castleford stuck to the scri pt that has not served them well in 2008 and were belted 44-14 at the hands of Harlequins.

The fifth round of the ECC runs on May 10-11.
